Baseball Coaster Set
Here’s a simple baseball coaster set woodworking plan that you may want to make in multiples for use as gifts. It consists
of a set of coasters and a tabletop base for storing them. Made from two thicknesses of
maple, you’ll learn how to make perfectly round parts without a lathe. The trick is a handy
circle sanding jig that you customize to your disc sander. Other tools needed are a
scroll saw, router table, inexpensive rotary carver, and a drill press equipped with a 3”
forstner bit. Once you cut and sand the coasters to size, use the full-size pattern in the
downloadable plan to carve the baseball seams and stitches. Then spray the etched
surfaces with red paint and peel off the paper pattern for the final baseball look. Overall
Dimensions: base, 1/2″x 4 3/4” dia.; coasters: 3/8” x 3 1/2″ dia.
