Cornhole Box Set
Discover a novel way to build a regulation set of boxes for the popular cornhole game,
played in backyards across America. In this cornhole box woodworking plan, I used a Kreg pocket-hole
jig and pocket-hole screws, which let me hide the hardware for a clean professional look.
(To build the boxes on the cheap, you can also go with nails or screws.) For materials, I
went with 1×4 pine boards and ½”-thick birch plywood, which I picked up at my local home
center. Here, I found plywood that was already precut in 2 x 4’ pieces, allowing for speedy
construction. For tools I used a cordless drill, jigsaw, miter saw, and random-orbit sander.
Once built, I painted chevrons on the box tops, and then applied a couple coats of protective
clear finish. Overall dimensions: 4” high x 24” wide x 48” long (12” high at one end with the
legs extended).
